A-Z glossary of PageSeeder concepts

Defined in each PSML document as containers for related fragments, sections are used to divide a document into fixed parts that remain in place throughout the lifecycle of the document.

Sections can be used to restrict the movement, editing or type of fragments they contain.

Sections are specified in the document template. The template specifies the identifier within the document (section ID) and can also specify a title.

Once the document is created, users cannot modify sections through the user interface. However, it is possible to modify or add sections in a document by overwriting a document by upload or through the API. Changes to the sections appear in the structure history of the document.

In PSML, sections are represented using the <section> element.
