# Edit sheet

As the name implies, this is a hybrid of a spreadsheet and a conventional editor.  Available from the search results, the Edit sheet makes it straightforward for users to open an entire folder of documents or binary objects and edit their *metadata*, *properties*, or *filename*. In the case of PSML documents, the Edit sheet also exposes [fragment properties](../../psml/elements/element_properties-fragment.md) or [inline labels](inline_label.md) for editing.

The Edit sheet also allows users to [batch process](batch_processing.md) multiple files at once using one of the available functions.

Able to support hundreds of files at a time, the Edit sheet is a good solution for ensuring that values are consistently expressed across a collection of documents.
