# Auto-save

When editing a [document](/reference/glossary/document.md), there is an auto-save feature that stores the current [draft](/reference/glossary/draft.md) version of the [fragment](/reference/glossary/fragment.md) every few seconds after you stop typing.

> **Note:** If an edit window is left open, auto-save continually runs until the window has been closed or manually saved.

The auto-save feature also operates when creating a new [comment](/reference/glossary/comment.md) or [task](/reference/glossary/task.md).
